Hosting Guests the Sunnah Way Without Exhausting Yourself

Simple meal prepared for guests

The Prophet, peace be upon him, honored guests and also lived simply. A warm welcome does not require a banquet every visit.

Keep a default menu ready. Soup, rice, and a salad can feel abundant when served with presence and smile.

Ask for help. Letting guests rinse cups or set chairs is friendship, not failure. Shared effort softens formality.

Protect prayer times during visits. Pausing for salah models priorities better than apologizing for them.

After guests leave, rest without guilt. Exhaustion dressed as piety helps no one. Hospitality includes kindness toward your own household too.
