Practicing Gratitude When Life Feels Ordinary

Gratitude journals became popular for good reason. Writing three blessings daily retrains the mind to notice what already works.

Start with the body. Eyes that see, feet that walk, a heart that beats without your command. These are gifts we rarely list until illness reminds us.

Thank people directly. Telling a coworker you appreciate their help is sunnah in spirit even if the words are modern.

Pair gratitude with dua. When you receive something good, say Alhamdulillah and ask Allah to keep you thankful when it is taken away.

Ordinary days are not empty days. Most of life happens between milestones. Shukr turns those in-between hours into worship.
