Starting Your Day with Morning Adhkar

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught specific words to say after waking. They are short, but their weight is enormous. If you have ever rushed out the door and felt the day already running ahead of you, morning adhkar can pull you back into presence.
Start with what you already know. Ayat al-Kursi, the last three surahs, and the simple dua upon waking do not need a perfect recitation to matter. What helps is consistency, not length. Keep a small card by your bed or set a gentle reminder on your phone for the first week.
Say them before checking messages. That single boundary changes the tone of the entire morning. You are not fighting technology. You are choosing what enters your heart first.
If you miss a day, begin again without guilt. Islam encourages effort, not perfection. Over time, these few minutes become the calmest part of your routine, and you may find yourself reaching for them naturally, even on busy mornings.
